Empty Canvas

Nothing quite like a blank canvas. Robert Rauschenberg with his ‘White Painting‘ from 1951, and Jens Haaning with his ( news-worthy ) ‘Take the Money and Run’, and I’m certain there are more examples, are guilty of gifting the viewer an opportunity to engage deeply with a pure canvas and with themselves. This being said, for me, the instant one mark is made on canvas, paper, board etc, the journey away from purity and the search for harmony begin simultaneously. 1.5m and 1.45m canvases started today.
